Concpet building process in geometry using the game OWL
Gandžalová, Tereza ; Jirotková, Darina (advisor) ; Kvaszová, Milena (referee)
The main topic of this thesis is the conceptual process in the field of geometry, more specifically the process of pupils' cognition of geometric objects during the didactic game Owl. The research of the thesis is focused on pupils of younger school age 9-11 years old. The aim of the thesis is to map pupils' ideas about geometric objects, their accompanying phenomena and relations between them through experiments, the tool of which is the Owl game and its modifications. The didactic game Owl is described in detail in the theoretical part of the thesis. Here, the theoretical background for the design of the experiments and the analysis of the pupils' discussions are also presented and the terms used in the practical part are defined. These backgrounds include the terms concept and conceptual process, the stages of development of geometric language, the theory of levels of understanding and the theory of generic model, and last but not least the levels of geometric thinking of the author Van Hiele. In the practical part, I focus on the description of the methodology and the characteristics of both the overall group and the individual pupils in it. Besides, the paper includes a breakdown of the activity plan of each experiment with their expected outcomes for each group. This is followed by the...
Problems from environment Parquet for children entering the first grade of primary school
Šmídová, Kateřina ; Slezáková, Jana (advisor) ; Jirotková, Darina (referee)
The aim of the submitted diploma thesis is to complete a series of graded tasks from the manipulative environment of Parquet. Then apply these tasks to preschool and school children in the 1st year of elementary school. Not only observe how they cope with these activities, but also how they think, explain their actions, and how they communicate with each other. Observe myself, as a researcher, how do I work with children, how do I communicate with them and how do I submit them the tasks. Record my knowledge and learn from it. The theoretical part defines the individual stages for the preschool and pupils in terms of the development of psychology, they are constructive concepts of teaching mathematics with reference to the RVP ZV and RVP PV. Studied textbooks for the 1st and 2nd year of elementary school searched for activities from the environment of Parquet. Activities are selected that illustrate the typology of tasks. The relevant didactic games related to the Parquet environment are also described. For the practical part is chosen method of qualitative research on the basis of experiments in two research groups. The experiments are composed of individual activities, which are graded from the very basic creation of the parquet, specifying the rules of laying them down on the floor, to the final...
Dynacorp Prototype of managerial board game for teaching of system thinking
Čapek, Michal ; Mildeová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Brixí, Radim (referee)
The thesis is focused on promoting the training of systems thinking using board game. The primary goal is to create a board game, useful for training of the information managers. The secondary objective is to describe process of the design and creation of board game. The theoretical basis of the thesis is to define the profile information manager and demands for his skills further description of the principles of systems thinking and game theory. External work output is a prototype board game. The theoretical part of the paper discusses in particular the principles of board game , systems thinking and psychological effect on the player so that it can pass through the game players more experience. From the perspective of the theory of systems thinking are discussed and applied basic principles of feedback, causal thinking and system archetypes. Theory of board games then processes the options and mechanisms to transmit the necessary knowledge and experience. In the practical part thesis focuses on the description of the mechanisms used in the game Dynacorp and their justification in terms of teaching systems thinking. Conclusion The paper evaluates the fulfillment of the set objectives, the potential of game and describes future goals.
The Play As The Pedagogical Phenomenon
PODRUHOVÁ, Petra
This bachelor's thesis presents a look at the game from the pedagogical position, in its use trough the activation teaching methods, didactical and pedagogical game. The first chapter of the teoretical part acquaint us with the general characteristic of the pedagogical and didactical game and with the effect on individual in relation to education. Second chapter acquaint us with activation teaching methods, of theirs classification and categories, we compare the form of the teaching trough these methodes with classical method of teaching and with the metodology of activation teaching methods. The practical part contains research, which is focused on the using the game (activation teaching methods, didactical and pedagogical games and components of alternative education) in all primary schools in Cesky Krumlov.
